The R.C.L.A.

The River City Lacrosse Association was formed in 1976 by two men from the east coast who realized that there was no organized lacrosse in the Sacramento area. Shortly after the R.C.L.A. was formed they helped with the creation of a collegiate club team at Sacramento State University. Both of these teams grew simultaneously over the years.

The R.C.L.A. has had many different names and sponsors since it’s inception: Capital Coors, Sacramento Old Boys, Bonnlair Pub, and most recently Streets of London Pub. However what hasn’t changed is that there has been and continues to be a group of men that enjoy playing completive lacrosse, having a fun both on and off the field, and are looking to help bring and further lacrosse in the west coast and Sacramento area specifically. Numerous members and former members of the team have been instrumental in starting high school lacrosse programs in the area and coaching younger players.

2008 Season is here!!

Our lacrosse team has a 25+ year history in Sacramento.   We strive to play competitive lacrosse on the field and have as much fun off the field as possible! Our team consists of a great network of players from all over the country who have relocated here to the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. We even attract players from the Bay Area and Contra Costa County.  Our Spring Season is played against teams from the Bay Area in the NCLA and we play pick-up in the summer and fall as well as the Lake Tahoe Tourney in late July/August.  Members from our team play in the San Diego, Hawaii and Las Vegas Tournaments as well. Contact us if you're interested in playing the traditional sport of North America in Sacramento!
